Course Narrative
This class Hispanic Testimonials helped me to fulfillment MLO 3 that relates to Literacy and Cultural Knowledge. In the class we completed literature of varios countries like Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala, Chile and other countries. I completed a presentation within a group of the documental of "La memoria obstinada de Chile". In which we reflected about the context, the purpose of the documentary, and a whole analysis of what happened in Chile and why, what consequences brought to the country. This helped me to understand other country history, other culture , social and political issues. This knowledge is significant for me as a Spanish major because now I know more history of the Latin America countries and what to expect if some day I go and visit for educacional purposes. In this class I gain knowledge about the 'subalternos 'people who have been discriminated and marginalized. As a class we did an testimonial anthology in which we went to the community and research about subalternos people who have been discriminated in the society in different aspects such as living, food, rent and more common topics that interested to the community.
