MLO 4 Secondary Culture Other than Hispanic Cultures
4.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of Hispanic cultures with a second culture other than those.
4.2 Students will analyze and make connections between the perspectives, ways of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of a second culture other than Hispanic cultures.
In order to complete this MLO 4. I took JAPN 305 (Introduction to Japanese Culture and Civilization).
In this class I learned about Japanese culture. Among the things I learned from their culture is that the clothing they wear has to do with their status and power. I learned that the Buddhist religion is very important to this culture and that it marked much of what Japan is now in spiritual terms. I learned that even though many of us are not Japanese, many respect their traditions and religion by joining them, through practice or just by trying something new, however many people visit Buddhist temples even though they are not necessarily Japanese.
