MLO 2 : Language and Linguists Knowledge
Linguistics Students develop their knowledge of fundamental concepts in the fields of Hispanic and Applied Linguistics, and are able to apply them in the completion of research papers and data-driven small-scale research studies pertaining current issues in these areas.
In MLO 2: Language and Linguistics Knowledge. In order to complete this MLO 2 I took Span 305 (Spanish for the professions), Span 315 (Intro Translation Spanish/English and Span 301 (Composition and Oral Practice)
These classes taught me to know more about how to write the language correctly, I realized my grammar mistakes. I know that they are very important to give a better message while transmitting an idea. Accents in words for example change the meaning of the word a lot.
I had the opportunity to participate in class through oral presentations to achieve language proficiency in formal and non-formal conversations. I also had the opportunity to learn in detail parts of speeches in the standard dialects and follow a conceptual and linguistic discourse in professional academic environments, conferences, speeches and reports.
I developed an understanding of other people's ways of thinking, from another culture in terms of ideas, beliefs, attitudes and practices.
